Helping Small Businesses Avoid Catastrophes Associated With Litigation

Most business litigation involves America’s smaller companies, not the giant corporations you see in the news. I am attorney Leslie Waycaster, and at my firm, The Waycaster Firm, I have represented small businesses not only in helping them get started, but in handling legal disputes as well.

Make no mistake, however: Even smaller companies deal in millions of dollars, and the stakes are high. Dalton is the carpet capital of the world, where million-dollar “handshake deals” are made on a regular basis. Bad results in just one contract can be catastrophic for a small company.

Putting 40 Years Of Experience To Work For Your Business

Over the course of my career, I have handled cases in ranging in complexity in both state and federal courts. I have handled a wide range of business disputes arising from:

  • Breach of contract
  • Fraud allegations
  • Violations of state or federal RICO laws
  • Violations of the Fair Business Practices Act

I take a two-step approach. First, I try to advise business clients in a way so as to avoid litigation. One of the benefits of hiring me is my background in mediation and dispute resolution. I try to solve problems, not create them. I do this by asking questions, talking to my clients and taking the time necessary to get the whole story. I then try my best to find the common ground needed to resolve matters quickly and amicably.

Second, if litigation is needed, I have the experience and ability to handle it. I am also proud of my good relationship with lawyers who specialize in certain areas, for example in patents, copyright and intellectual property law. To ensure the most favorable outcome, I will bring on extra help when necessary.
